Garment Registration
The laboratory is responsible for the registration of garment manufacturers and the management of the TTBS Registration Number System. This system is maintained as a service to the public and to garment manufacturers in particular. This number is the unique identifier of the manufacturer of the garment or fabric article. It is not a certification of garment quality. It is a means of allowing the manufacturer to be in compliance with the Labelling Standard TTS 76-1996 Part 3: Labelling of Garments. The standard mandates that all labels carry the unique identifier of the manufacturer.
The TTBS System is maintained as a database of manufacturers and manufacturing capability. This information is available to persons seeking to make business contacts in apparel and sewn products manufacturing.
As a service to small manufacturers TTBS offers a fabric identification and label supply package to ensure that these clients are in compliance with the Compulsory Labelling Requirements.
The services of the laboratory can be accessed by calling any of the listed numbers and asking for extensions 216 or 209.
