 WEBSITE CONTENT POLICY
The purpose of the site is to provide information about the Trinidad and Tobago Bureau of Standards ( TTBS) to its various stakeholders. The mission of the website is to assist in fulfilling the mission of TTBS by facilitating:

  • the exchange of information and ideas between the Bureau and its stakeholders; and
  • the sale of products and services.

TTBS has taken all efforts to ensure that information contained on its Website is accurate. We will make every attempt to keep the website current and up-to-date. Users however have a responsibility to verify content before entering into any sort of obligation or commitment based on the website content. Establishing a Link
Interested parties are welcome to establish a link to TTBS Online. There is no fee charged by TTBS to establish a link to our Website.

Minimum Requirements for Hyperlink from TTBS Online  
In order to establish a hyperlink from a TTBS Website you must at least fulfill the following criteria:

  1. Your website must be reviewed and/or updated with current and accurate information on an as needed and regular basis.
  2. Your website must NOT include offensive, obscene and/or libelous material or any other material that may lead to civil or criminal liability and cannot be directly linked to any other websites that may include offensive, obscene and/or libelous material or any other material that may lead to civil or criminal liability.
  3. Your website must not be a personal homepage. Links from TTBS’s Websites will not link directly to any personal web pages.
  4. You must commit to hyperlink back to the related TTBS Website from your website within 30 business days. TTBS reserves the right to reject an application for hyperlink.      

Application for Hyperlink from TTBS
In order to establish a hyperlink from a TTBS Website you must submit an application (written or via e-mail) to the Executive Director of TTBS providing the following information:

  1. The name of your website(s) and date of commencement;
  2. The name and address of the producer and registered administrative contact of your website(s);
  3. A profile of your company including information on any electronic trade/commerce provided by your company;
  4. Preferably, but not necessarily, a warranty that your company has not been made a party to or threatened by any suits, actions, claims or any other liability for any negligent misstatement or infringement of intellectual property rights or libelous or obscene publication or any other cause whatsoever arising from the publication of its website(s).

Terms and Conditions of Hyperlink
Anyone permitted to hyperlink from or to a TTBS Website must accepts and acknowledges the following terms and conditions: You may only use the text and images provided by TTBS in the manner and locations specified by TTBS.

You acknowledge and agree that:

  1. TTBS's trademarks and name, including, but not limited to, the familiar Trinidad and Tobago Standards Mark, the standard marks called the Product Certification Mark, the TTTIC Mark, TTBS/ISO 9001 Mark, TTBS/ISO 14001 Mark and the TTBS Q&EMS-SME Mark as set out in Part I, Part II, Part III, Part IV and Part V, respectively of the First Schedule (The Standards Regulations, 2004) and " TTBS" logo, (collectively, the "Marks"), TTBS's Websites and their contents are and shall remain the sole property of TTBS;
  2. Nothing in this Agreement shall give you any right of ownership in the Marks or TTBS’s Websites;
  3. You shall not now or in the future contest the validity of the Marks; and
  4. You shall not take any action that would impair the value or goodwill associated with the Marks or TTBS’s image or reputation and in particular you shall not use the Marks in any way that might be misleading or seek to promote any goods or services not certified by TTBS.    

 Disclaimer  
Subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement, TTBS gives you a non-exclusive, limited license to use the Marks on your website solely for the purpose of providing a hyperlink to TTBS’s Website(s).

You may not use the Marks for any other purpose whatsoever including the promotion, advertising or publicity of your website. Any link you establish must transfer the user directly to TTBS’s Website(s) to enable viewing of the site as posted by TTBS without the imposition of any frames, browser windows or third party content.

Please note that TTBS's permission for parties to link to TTBS Online, or any TTBS Websites, shall not be construed as any type of endorsement by TTBS, or any of TTBS's members or participating Standards Developers or third-party organizations (unless otherwise noted), of a referenced organization, system, product or service.

You shall not state or imply in any way that TTBS has endorsed you or your products, service or website, except that you may refer to your product's TTBS certification if it is so Listed, Classified or Recognized and in accordance. TTBS reserves the right to terminate this Agreement with or without cause at any time. If TTBS terminates this Agreement, you shall remove any and all links to the TTBS Website within twenty-four hours of receipt of notice from TTBS.            


PRIVACY AND SECURITY POLICY
Thank you for visiting the TTBS website and reviewing our privacy and security policy. Our policy is as follows:

  1. The TTBS Website will offer, at no charge, to all its visitors the following features: …… …… For TTBS members, the following additional features will be made available: ……. …….
  2. Subscribing members will have a logon/password combination to access the additional features.
  3. To obtain a logon/password, you may go to the TTBS Website and fill out a request form.
  4. When you visit our site, certain information is collected to allow us to further develop our site to make it more useful to visitors; this information is limited to the following:

    • The IP address of the computer used to access our site
    • The type of browser and operating system used
    • Date and time of the visit
